MAKING “GOOD TROUBLE” ON THE STREETS AND IN CONGRESS
On Thursday, July 17, 2025, Americans all over the country will participate in the Good Trouble Lives On National Day of Action—responding to Trump’s attacks on our civil and human rights, by making “Good Trouble” carrying on John Lewis’ fight for justice, voting rights, and dignity for all. What better time for our Members of Congress to push 5 pieces of legislation protecting our ability to freely choose our leaders.

***IMMEDIATE ACTION***”Alligator Auschwitz”and ICE’S OTHER CONCENTRATION CAMPS MUST BE SHUT DOWN [7-14-25]
The $170 billion for border and immigration enforcement in the MAGA Murder Bill funds the two major components of Trump’s fascist government—an American Gestapo filled with loyal goons, and the concentration camps spread across the country to which his enemies will be sent to be mistreated and tortured.
Members of Congress, state officials, civic groups, and media outlets must expose and amplify what’s going on in these camps and push back against this Nazi-like behavior. Congress must also investigate and expose the “play-to-pay” corruption of private prison companies American taxpayers are financing and get these concentration camps closed.

***IMMEDIATE ACTION***THE TRAGIC EFFECTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE DENIAL WILL GET WORSE [7-13-25]
On July 4th, catastrophic flooding caused central Texas’ Guadalupe River to rise 26+ feet in just 45 minutes, sweeping away people, including children at summer camps, homes and businesses. At least 120 died, and nearly 200 are still missing. Because of DOGE firings, there was no local meteorologist to pass on NWS flood warnings, and Kristi Noem’s micromanagement delayed FEMA’s response by three days.
Our Members of Congress must do much more than investigate how Trump’s, Musk’s, and Noem’s attacks on the NWS and FEMA hampered preparedness and response efforts. They must connect the dots repeatedly between GOP policy and its lethal consequences—the deaths and destruction across America caused by climate change—and hold Trump and Republicans accountable.

DEMOCRATS: KEEP FIGHTING TO PROTECT OUR FREEDOMS AND OUR CONTINUED PROSPERITY
On July 4, while Americans were celebrating our freedoms, Trump was touting the cruelest, most draconian and oppressive legislation in 150+ years which erases many of these freedoms and transforms our country into a police state. Democrats, united in the fight to protect these freedoms and America’s social safety net, lacked the votes to prevail. We must thank them for their fierce efforts on our behalf and urge them to remain united in the upcoming battle to tie every Republican incumbent to the bill’s monstrous human results.

“Dear Democratic Party, Fascism Is Consolidating Power in Real Time. Act Now.”
We wish the Democratic Party would stop asking for money while fascism consolidates power in real time under an authoritarian machine, with SCOTUS, the House, the Senate, and the executive branch under its control. We demand bold leadership, smart resistance, and a plan for restoration, and we have some distinct ideas for resistance and action.

***IMMEDIATE ACTION***WE CAN STILL STOP THE MAGA MURDER BILL [6-30-25]
The extremely unpopular, Medicaid-slashing, billionaire-enriching version of the MAGA Murder Bill Senate Republicans hope to send back to the House is even worse than the House-passed version, willingly consigning many of their constituents to misery, hunger, and death to partially pay for the largest transfer of wealth in American history and blow up the national debt.
Both versions further transform the US into a police state. Cutting access to healthcare and food frees up $50 billion to finish Trump’s useless southern border wall, $8 billion to hire 10,000 masked ICE gestapo agents to daily round up 3000 immigrants and Americans, and $59 billion to build the concentration camps to hold and then deport them—further destroying our civil rights.
Voting may have already started in the Senate, but there’s still time to contact your Senators, thank them for all opposing the gutting of vital programs our families and communities rely on, and urge them to keep proposing amendments that highlight Republicans’ cruelty and trying to stop its passage however they can. Then call your Representative, who may shortly be voting on the Senate version, and pass along a similar message.

***IMMEDIATE ACTION***STOP TRUMP’S WAR AGAINST IRAN NOW! [from Rogan’s List, 6-22-22]
I am horrified and infuriated that Donald Trump is dragging us into another Middle Eastern quagmire. The Constitution does not allow just one man to make this decision, and the Trump Administration cannot be trusted to make it.
Congress needs to do its job and check their power. As your constituent, I demand that you vote to stop these strikes and block further escalation of attacks on Iran. Do not rubber stamp this unnecessary, unpopular, half-baked war. Please publicly announce you will back the pending War Powers resolutions and support a diplomatic solution. I will be calling you every day to express my abhorrence at Trump’s behavior and remind you of the need for swift congressional action.

DON’T LET TRUMP BLUNDER US INTO WAR
Despite overwhelming popular opposition to becoming involved in another endless war in the Middle East, Netanyahu is trying to get Trump to do just that. Congress must reclaim its constitutional power to declare war and peace, preventing Trump from recklessly and flippantly blundering us into this disastrous, unauthorized Middle East war and, in the process, protecting our democracy from Trump’s ever expanding executive overreach.

DEFEAT TRUMP’S FASCIST MAGA MURDER BUDGET BILL
Trump's MAGA Murder Budget Bill is as much an expression of his fascist agenda as his ICE raids, tariff threats, military parade, and disinformation campaign. It will kill thousands of Americans who will lose health care and food assistance, while funding the biggest military budget in decades and exponentially more ICE raids and exploding the debt. MAGA Senate proposals are even worse. Only killing the bill will save Americans from these travesties.

***IMMEDIATE ACTION***DEFUND TRUMP’S GESTAPO [6-16-25]
Trump and his ICE Gestapo are trampling on our Constitution and building a fascist police state in America. ICE also intimidates by detaining and charging “interfering” public figures, and it illegally continues denying Congresspeople access to ICE facilities to check on detained migrants, part of their oversight function.
Our MoCs must stop fascism in its tracks by exposing ICE’s atrocities and cutting off ICE funding. The billions for militarized enforcement in the MAGA Murder Budget Bill now before the Senate, and later returning to the House, must be removed and the administration notified that accountability’s coming when Democrats retake the House.
![***IMMEDIATE ACTION***FELLUJAH ON THE PACIFIC: TRUMP’S PLAN FOR LOS ANGELES [6-13-25]](https://images.squarespace-cdn.com/content/v1/5ddaa72407db674ed86428ad/1750094251313-O11W9HVDZC9QNQ8YQ0BJ/UrgentActionV7.jpg)
***IMMEDIATE ACTION***FELLUJAH ON THE PACIFIC: TRUMP’S PLAN FOR LOS ANGELES [6-13-25]
Trump always wanted to use the military to attack his opponents and quash peaceful protests. In Los Angeles this past weekend he made it happen—manufacturing a supposed “crisis” by sending heavily armed, masked ICE agents using armored trucks, rifles, and stun grenades to raid workplaces and day labor hangouts where immigrants congregated and using the resulting peaceful protests as an excuse to illegally send in both the National Guard and the Marines to further brutalize Los Angelenos. .This is a test run for Trump’s broader agenda, relying on fear, force, and fascistic tactics to silence dissent and dehumanize vulnerable communities.
Like Governor Newsom, our MoCs must hold the Trump administration accountable for intentionally creating chaos and breaking the law to stoke violence—dismantling his lies in real time; highlighting that ICE is rounding up and summarily deporting not criminals but average, law-abiding immigrants; and drawing attention to Trump’s illegal use of the National Guard and Marines to squash peaceful protests against his unpopular ICE raids.
Additionally, they must (1) claw back the reconciliation bill’s funding for ICE and the Pentagon being used to terrorize immigrants and citizens alike; (2) demand hearings on Trump’s illegal militarization; (3) force votes on legislation preventing the President from using the military and National Guard to curtail our First Amendment freedoms; and, most importantly, (4) regularly inspect local ICE facilities to draw attention to their unconstitutional treatment of immigrants and citizens.

***IMMEDIATE ACTION***PROTECT PUBLIC BROADCASTING: VOTE NO ON TRUMP’S RESCISSION REQUEST [6-11-25]
On June 3, Trump formally asked Congress to take back the entire $1.1 billion already awarded to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting through September 2027—an essential source of funding for more than 1,500 local public television and radio stations around the country. Eliminating CPB funding isn’t about budget cuts. It’s about silencing the free press, obscuring the truth, and clearing the path for unchecked propaganda—a classic authoritarian move.
Beginning today, my Members of Congress must speak out forcefully against this rescission, paint proponents as First Amendment deniers, educating colleagues and voters how American democracy requires a free and independent press, and promise to hold proponents responsible in 2026 for shutting down the CPB and creating news deserts in their communities.

Stop MAGA’s Deadly War on Children
Trump and his MAGA cronies are stealing lunch money, by decimating federal agencies at the cost of thousands of lives and untold suffering, all to make the rich even richer. Our Members of Congress must fight these cuts and illegal orders, expose vaccine disinformation, and hold hearings about MAGA’s deadly war on children.

TRUMP’S COSTLY MILITARY PARADE: THE CEREMONIAL BIRTH OF AMERICAN FASCISM
While Trump’s over-the-top military parade—a made-for-TV display of dominance on his birthday and the ceremonial birth of American fascism—takes place in Washington, D.C. on June 14, Americans in the rest of the country will be celebrating No Kings Day, a nationwide day of defiance that rejects authoritarianism and shows the world democracy in action. Our Members of Congress must amplify this difference every way they can.

Why call your Members of Congress
Members of Congress have told us repeatedly that our calls matter. When they meet with their colleagues in Congress, they say "I'm getting swamped with calls about this illegal power grab. We need to take action."
If you're represented by Democrats: They are our best defense in Washington DC. They can throw sand in the gears of the Trump regime by using tools such as parliamentary procedures. And they have the power to call attention to particular issues via press, social media, special events. In short: our elected officials have power, and we must push them to wield it.
If you're represented by Republicans: Our calls let them know just how unpopular their actions are. We make them nervous, even if they don't show it. We make it hard for them to take actions that hurt Americans.
Calling tips
State your name, your zip code or neighborhood, and why you're calling
Stick to one issue per call
Don't worry about getting pulled into a debate -- the staffer will simply document your message.
Be respectful. The person on the other end of the line is likely a staffer who handles numerous calls daily. Being polite makes your message more likely to be heard and taken seriously.
Use personal stories when possible. When you share how an issue affects you personally, or why it matters to you, your message is more likely to resonate and be remembered.
